Workshop FAQ
Beginner-friendly · Materials included · Guided step by step · Take home your finished piece
About the Workshop
Do I need jewelry-making experience?
Not at all. Our workshops are designed for beginners as well as guests who have made jewelry before. Your instructor will guide you through each step, from selecting your pearls to assembling and finishing your piece.
What will I make?
The project depends on the workshop you select. Current experiences may include a cultured pearl bracelet, necklace or another seasonal jewelry design.
The exact project, materials and available design options will be shown on the individual workshop listing.
Are all materials included?
Yes. Unless otherwise stated in the workshop description, your ticket includes the cultured pearls, findings, stringing materials, tools and instruction needed to complete the featured project.
Optional upgrades or additional materials may be available for purchase during selected workshops.
What kinds of pearls do you use?
We primarily work with cultured freshwater pearls selected for their luster, character and natural beauty. Depending on the workshop, different pearl shapes, sizes and colors may be available.
Because pearls are naturally grown, each one may vary slightly in shape, color, surface and luster. These variations are part of what makes every finished piece unique.
Can I choose my own pearls and design?
Most workshops include a curated selection of pearls and components so you can personalize your piece within the featured design.
The amount of customization varies by workshop. Please check the workshop listing for the specific options included.
How long does a workshop last?
Most workshops last approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on the project and group size.
The expected duration will be listed on the individual workshop page. We recommend allowing a little extra time so you can work at a comfortable pace.
Booking Your Place
Do you offer a waitlist?
When a workshop is sold out, a waitlist may be available. Join the waitlist through the workshop listing or contact us at hello@nystudio7.com.
If a place becomes available, guests will be contacted in the order requests were received.
How do I reserve a seat?
Choose your preferred workshop from our Upcoming Workshops page and complete your booking online.
Your place is confirmed when payment has been completed and you receive an order confirmation email.
Can I attend by myself?
Absolutely. Many guests attend on their own. Our workshops are intentionally small and welcoming, making them a lovely way to meet people while enjoying a creative experience.
Can I book several seats for friends?
Yes. You may reserve multiple available seats in one order.
If you are planning a birthday, bridal gathering, team activity or another group celebration, a private event may be a better fit.
Is there a minimum age?
Unless a workshop listing states otherwise, our public workshops are intended for adults.
Some experiences may be suitable for older teens when accompanied by a participating adult. Please contact us before booking for anyone under 18, as workshops involve small components and jewelry-making tools.
Before You Arrive
Are workshops accessible?
Accessibility varies by venue. If you have mobility, seating, vision, hearing or other access needs, please email hello@nystudio7.com before booking.
We will be happy to confirm the venue details and discuss reasonable accommodations.
What should I bring?
You do not need to bring any tools or supplies. Everything required for the featured project will be prepared for you.
If you normally wear reading glasses for close-up work, we recommend bringing them.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable that allows you to work easily with your hands. Long hair may be more comfortable tied back while using jewelry tools.
Where are workshops held?
Locations vary by date and may include the NY STUDIO7 workspace, partner businesses, community venues and pop-up locations across Long Island.
The full address, arrival instructions and parking information will be included on the workshop listing and in your confirmation email.
Is parking available?
Parking arrangements depend on the venue. We will include available parking information with the workshop details whenever possible.
Please allow enough time to park and arrive before the scheduled start
On the Day
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled start time. This gives you time to check in, choose your seat and settle in before instruction begins.
Collapsible row
What happens if I arrive late?
We understand that delays happen. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are running late.
Because each workshop includes step-by-step instruction, arriving more than 15 minutes after the start may make it difficult to complete your piece. Admission cannot be guaranteed for significantly late arrivals.
Can I bring food or drinks?
Food and drink policies vary by venue. Please review your workshop confirmation before bringing anything.
Water in a closed container is generally welcome. Alcohol is not provided unless clearly stated as part of a specific event.
Will photographs be taken?
We may occasionally photograph workshops for our website and social media. We will always respect guests who prefer not to be photographed.
Please let the instructor know when you arrive if you do not wish to appear in any photographs.
Cancellations and Changes
What is the cancellation policy?
Workshop materials and seating are prepared in advance for each guest.
- Cancellations made at least 7 calendar days before the workshop may receive a refund.
- Cancellations made between 72 hours and 7 days before the workshop may be transferred once to another available workshop or issued as studio credit.
- Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the workshop and no-shows are non-refundable.
Any original payment-processing fees may be excluded from the refund.
Please email hello@nystudio7.com with your name and order number if you need to make a change.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Yes. If you cannot attend, you may give your place to another guest.
Please email us before the workshop with the new guest’s name so we can update the attendance list.
What happens if NY STUDIO7 cancels or reschedules a workshop?
If we need to cancel a workshop, you may choose a full refund or transfer your booking to another available date.
If a workshop is rescheduled, your booking will automatically move to the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund.
NY STUDIO7 is not responsible for travel, parking or other personal expenses connected with attendance.
What happens during severe weather?
For weather-related changes, we will contact registered guests using the email address provided at checkout.
Depending on conditions, the workshop may continue as scheduled, move to another date or be cancelled. If NY STUDIO7 cancels the workshop, guests will be offered a transfer or refund.
Private and Group Events
How do I request a private or corporate event?
Complete our Host an Event inquiry form with your preferred date, estimated group size, location and the type of experience you are considering.
We will review your request and contact you with availability, recommended options and next steps.
Can you host a private jewelry workshop?
Yes. We offer private pearl jewelry experiences for birthdays, bridal gatherings, friends, families and other celebrations.
Private events can be hosted at selected partner venues, community spaces, workplaces or another suitable location.
Do you offer corporate or community workshops?
Yes. We can create guided jewelry experiences for employee appreciation, team gatherings, client events, schools, nonprofit organizations and community groups.
The project, group size, location and level of customization can be adapted to your event.
Can NY STUDIO7 come to our location?
In many cases, yes. Mobile event availability depends on your location, group size, venue setup and selected project.
Your venue should provide suitable tables, chairs, lighting and enough time for setup and cleanup. Travel or venue-related fees may apply.
How far in advance should I inquire?
We recommend contacting us at least four to six weeks before your preferred event date. Larger events, custom projects and peak-season dates may require additional planning time.
Availability is not guaranteed until the event details, date and payment have been confirmed.
Caring for Your Finished Jewelry
Pearls are naturally delicate and should be treated with care.
Put your jewelry on after perfume, hairspray and lotion. Remove it before swimming, bathing, exercising or sleeping. After wearing, gently wipe the pearls with a soft, dry cloth and store the piece flat in a soft pouch or lined box.
For complete material and care information, visit our Materials & Care page.
