Pearls, People & Community: NY STUDIO7 at the Merrick Street Fair
Share

There is something special about bringing our jewelry out of the studio and into the heart of the community.
At the Merrick Street Fair on Long Island, NY STUDIO7 had the opportunity to share our handmade pearl jewelry in person, meet new customers and enjoy a day filled with conversations, discoveries and memorable moments.
From arranging the final pearl display to seeing visitors find pieces that felt personal to them, the event reminded us why we love participating in local markets.
Bringing the NY STUDIO7 Experience Outdoors
For the Merrick Street Fair, we transformed our market booth into a small open-air pearl studio.
The display featured pearl necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and one-of-a-kind Studio Originals, arranged so visitors could explore different pearl sizes, shapes, colors and styles up close.
Pearls have a depth and glow that can be difficult to fully appreciate on a screen. Seeing them in natural light allows every subtle variation to become visible—from soft white and blush tones to the organic shapes and surface characteristics that make each cultured pearl unique.
We wanted the booth to feel welcoming, polished and easy to explore, while still preserving the personal character of a handmade jewelry studio.

Handmade Details, Seen Up Close
One of our favorite parts of a pop-up market is being able to explain how a piece is made.
Visitors could look closely at the pearls, clasps, metal details and hand-finished arrangements while learning more about the materials behind each design.
Some customers were drawn to classic white pearl strands. Others preferred contemporary bracelets, statement rings or pieces with more organic pearl shapes. Many enjoyed comparing different styles and seeing how a pearl design looked when worn rather than displayed.
These conversations help customers choose with greater confidence, but they also give us valuable insight into the pieces, colors and designs our community loves most.
Meeting the Merrick Community
The most meaningful part of the day was meeting the people behind every conversation, question and purchase.
We spoke with visitors shopping for themselves, customers looking for thoughtful gifts and people discovering NY STUDIO7 for the first time. Some were longtime pearl lovers, while others were surprised by how modern and versatile pearl jewelry can feel.
Our goal has always been to create pearl jewelry that can move naturally between workdays, weekends, celebrations and everyday life. Meeting customers in person lets us help them find a piece that reflects their individual style rather than simply following a trend.
We are grateful to everyone who stopped at our booth, asked about our work, tried on jewelry or shared a kind word with us.

A Pearl Moment to Remember
One of the loveliest moments from the market was seeing a customer wearing her pearl bracelet and carrying an NY STUDIO7 shopping bag.
A finished piece only becomes complete when it finds the person who will wear it. Seeing a customer smile, style her new jewelry and make it part of her own story is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
These moments are the reason we value local pop-ups. They create a connection that goes beyond a transaction and allow us to see how each design becomes personal.
